Herbarium

Herbarium is the result of a project that began in 2016 and is dedicated especially to the neighbourhood of Pedro Garau. Within the artists desire to offer the textile sector a natural alternative to dyes, the research that Rosa Caterina opens has managed to provide a chromatic chart of 12 colour shades, all of which come from Pedro Garau’s trees. My role was to bring her investigative work to the realm of art, to communicate her research and bring the possibility of sustainable practices to light. Following my own research of her work as well as the site which commissioned and exhibits her piece, a natural dye chart became a logical solution. This is an artist print limited to an edition of 100.

: Rosa Caterina Bosch :

Rosa Caterina specializes in the study of local plants for the manufacture of colours and natural printing on paper and textiles. She is also part of an investigative collective that works on this research. Her artistic work has been present in many collective exhibitions in Mallorca. She is also author and co-author of several publications on textile art, natural dyes and bio-cultural diversity.
